Glenda Moore was frantically trying to escape from her Staten Island, NY neighborhood on Monday night when the waters rushed into her SUV and she got out holding her sons Brandon, 2, and Connor, 4. The rushing water ripped them out of her arms as she struggled to hold onto them and she watched in horror as they were swept away. In a heartbreaking and callous chain of events, Glenda tried to knock on doors but was refused help, with one person turning her away, saying “I don’t know you. I’m not going to help you. She was finally able to flag a police car down on Tuesday morning and rescue workers and police officers began searching in deep water for the children. The children were found under water and about 20 yards apart from each other, buried by trees and debris the New York Post reported. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly spoke about the loss of the children. “Terrible, absolutely terrible,” he said. “It just compounds all the tragic aspects of this horrific event.” He described the frightening situation Glenda was in as she tried to help her children. “The car apparently was hit by a wave. It stopped, it couldn’t run. “She went to get the boys out of the car. Another wave. The water started coming up. She put the two boys on the roof of the car to avoid the water and then another large wave came and apparently washed it away. Of course the mother was totally, completely distraught. She started looking for them herself, asking people to help her look.” A neighbor fondly recalled Glenda’s sons. “They are beautiful little guys,” Laurene Ryan said. “I usually hear them playing in the yard. Connor always had a smiley face. They’re such nice people. “This is so wrong. This is just unbelievable. There are no words.”

Reason 1. Wall Street. Have you checked the stock numbers lately? The numbers have hit historical highs under President Obama. That means he is good for the economy. Under Bush the numbers hit historical lows. See the difference?

Reason 2. Rush Limbaugh. What will Rush talk about if President Obama loses? Have you checked his ratings? Even after the Sandra Fluke debacle and losing sponsors hand over fist Rush weathered the storm. Hat in America is at an all time high. Makes for good radio.

Reason 3. Fox News. Have you checked their ratings? President Obama was a Godsend for Fox News. Under Bush they spent 8 years trying to defend two failed wars. The news was getting stale. President Obama was injected. The hatred spiked over 400%! Fox News parades so much hate you would think Lucifer is pulling the strings over there. They can't sell their hate for four more years if Mitt Romney wins.

Reason 4. GMC. Have you checked their sales? The car companies are back! A few short years ago you had to have AAA credit to purchase any car off the lot. Enter President Obama. Cash For Clunkers worked no matter what Fox News tells you. Mitt Romney said "Let Detroit Fail". People don't forget asinine comments like that.

Reason 5. Big Banks. They were tanking too. Under President Obama he bailed them out. Most if not all have paid their bail out loans off already.

Reason 6. Single White Women.
Single white women saw a Congress decide to take away their right to Pro Choice. Single white women are a major key vote that the Republicans seem to being absolutely nothing to keep. As a matter of fact a few of the Fox News pundits decided to call single women stupid and the Tea Party went as far to say that women shouldn't be able to vote.

Reason 7. The Hispanic Vote.
Now this voting block is also crucial. For years the Republicans have used the Hispanic vote to counter the black vote. That was until Y2K. All of a sudden the GOP decided that there were too many "illegals" in the United States. In Tea Party terminology "illegal " stands for anyone in the U.S. that looks like they are from Mexico. The decision to throw away this vote will have far reaching implications for years to come. This community is growing in numbers and the GOP will pay dearly for throwing the Hispanics under the bus.

Reason 8. The Gay Vote.
Love it or hate it there are gay people in America. The Christian Conservative Right played their hand. They don't care for the gay lifestyle and think that the gays should hide in the shadows like they have always done. Another decision that will come back to haunt the GOP.

12 Killed 58 Wounded in Shooting at Batman Movie

Police in the state of Colorado say at least 12 people were shot to death and around 58 were wounded in a shooting at a movie theater in a suburb of Denver.Authorities say the midnight premier of “The Dark Knight Rises, the latest Batman movie, had just begun Friday at the Century 16 theatre in the city of Aurora, when a masked man at the front of the theatre stood up, faced the packed crowd, threw a tear gas canister and started randomly shooting.

Witnesses said he fatally shot an infant at point-blank range.Police say they immediately apprehended the shooter, who had a rifle and one handgun. Aurora Chief of Police Daniel Oates told a news conference that only one man was involved, contrary to initial reports that there may have been an accomplice.Authorities called in a bomb squad and are searching the theatre and the shooter's home in Aurora for explosives.

Where do I start? Another tablet. I got the call from Gamestop yesterday that my tablet was waiting to be picked up. I did my homework on this one. Did I really need another tablet? Well I guess I did. After having this thing in hand for a whole day here are my initial impressions and overview.

Hardware: Let us start with this thing was designed by none other than ASUS! They make some of the best Tablets on the market. The hardware is superb; it is a paltry 12 ounces. It has an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. 7" display. A powerful quad core processor. Up to 9 hours of HD video viewing. 10 hours of web browsing. 1280-by-800 high resolution display protected by Corning scratch resistant glass. Over 1 million pixels.  Very light in the hand. As light as holding a magazine. It is lighter than the Kindle Fire (which is it's direct competition). There is no rear facing camera, but there is a front facing camera for video chat. Reading books on this thing is awesome. From using the Kindle Book Store App to Google Play magazines to Comic Books the screen just pops! The colors are just right and truly lifelike.

Software: The Nexus 7 is the first tablet to take advantage of the 4.1 update called Jellybean. The major change from the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update is something called Project Butter. Project Butter fixes one of Android's biggest problems: it doesn't track your finger that well. Does it work? Yes it does. It also adds Google Now. Think Siri but better. You can now set alarms. Check and track airplane flights. Public transit schedules. Game scores. It really works. Just hold down the home button to get into that one.

Price: There is an 8 gig model for $199 and a 16 gig model for $249. Gamestop is only carrying the 16 gig model. It must be a hit. The first shipment sold out in one day everywhere.

The Verdict: For the price you are getting a whole lot of bang for your buck. Books: No problem. Games: Bring em. Movies: 1080p HD. Music: Sounds great. Battery: 4,325mAh. If you can afford it, get one. Better yet order two from the Google Play Store. The Gamestop version comes with the Transformers: Dark Side Of The Moon movie plus $25 to be used in the Google Play Store. Highly recommended.

Tyler Perry says he was pulled over, “badgered” by cops 12:20 pm April 2, 2012,

Tyler Perry said in a message posted Sunday on his blog that he recently was pulled over by police officers, one of whom banged on his window and “badgered” him.

He did not specify which metro area police force was involved, but said he was pulled over on the way to the Atlanta airport.

After making a left turn from the right lane, Perry wrote, a police car pulled him over and an officer stated he had made an illegal turn.

“I signaled to get into the turning lane, then made the turn because I have to be sure I’m not being followed,” Perry said he told the officer. He wrote that he usually is escorted by his own private security forces in an unmarked car, and if not he constantly scans the rearview mirror to ensure he is not being followed. He said the officer asked why Perry might fear he was being followed.

“Before I could answer him, I heard a hard banging coming from the passenger window,” Perry wrote. He said the officer told him his window were tinted and then said, “put your foot on the brake, put your foot on the brake!” Perry said he was confused but heeded advice his mother once gave him regarding interactions with police.

“My mother was born in 1945 into a segregated hotbed town in rural Louisiana,” Perry wrote. “She had known of many colored men at the time who were lynched and never heard from again. Since I was her only son for 10 years, growing up she was so worried about me. It wasn’t until after I heard her voice that I realized that both of these officers were white.”

After one of the officers “continued to badger” him, Perry said, he told them, “I think you guys need to just write the ticket and do whatever you need to do.”

Perry said the officer told him, “We may not let you go. You think you’re being followed, what’s wrong with you?”

However, before the situation progressed, another officer approached, Perry wrote.

“This officer was a black guy. He took one look at me and had that ‘Oh No’ look on his face. He immediately took both officers to the back of my car and spoke to them in a hushed tone. After that, one of the officers stayed near his car while one came back, very apologetic.”

Perry concluded his remarks with a call for action: “RACIAL PROFILING SHOULD BE A HATE CRIME INVESTIGATED BY THE FBI!!!”

Court Expert Proves That Voice Heard Yelling Help On Call Was Not George Zimmerman

As the Trayvon Martin controversy splinters into a debate about self-defense, a central question remains: Who was heard crying for help on a 911 call in the moments before the teen was shot? A leading expert in the field of forensic voice identification sought to answer that question by analyzing the recordings for the Orlando Sentinel.

His result: It was not George Zimmerman who called for help.

Tom Owen, forensic consultant for Owen Forensic Services LLC and chair emeritus for the American Board of Recorded Evidence, used voice identification software to rule out Zimmerman. Another expert contacted by the Sentinel, utilizing different techniques, came to the same conclusion. Zimmerman claims self-defense in the shooting and told police he was the one screaming for help. But these experts say the evidence tells a different story. Owen, a court-qualified expert witness and former chief engineer for the New York Public Library’s Rodgers and Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound, is an authority on biometric voice analysis — a computerized process comparing attributes of voices to determine whether they match.

After the Sentinel contacted Owen, he used software called Easy Voice Biometrics to compare Zimmerman’s voice to the 911 call screams. “I took all of the screams and put those together, and cut out everything else,” Owen says. The software compared that audio to Zimmerman’s voice. It returned a 48 percent match. Owen said to reach a positive match with audio of this quality, he’d expect higher than 90 percent.

“As a result of that, you can say with reasonable scientific certainty that it’s not Zimmerman,” Owen says, stressing that he cannot confirm the voice as Trayvon’s, because he didn’t have a sample of the teen’s voice to compare. Forensic voice identification is not a new or novel concept; in fact, a recent U.S. Department of Justice committee report notes that federal interest in the technology “has a history of nearly 70 years.”

Fifth-graders try to use rat poison on teacher

US: Three fifth-graders, two boys and a girl, confessed to using rat poison in attempts to harm a teacher.

The elementary school students laced the teacher's coffe and a muffin with the rat poison during two separate incidents, according to New York Daily News.

Fortunately for the teacher, she did not drink the coffee or eat the mufffin.

One of the students involved in the poisoning had a change of heart and he knocked the coffee mug over before the teacher could take a sip.

The three students have been expelled and moved to another school after the poisoning attempts came to light.

Woman climbs out of coffin 6 days later

CHINA: A 95-year-old woman in China terrified her neighbors when she climbed out of the coffin six days after she had supposedly passed away.

More than a fortnight before her 'death', the elderly woman had taken a fall and injured her head. One day, she was found not breathing or moving by one of her neighbours. The neighbor assumed the old woman had passed away even though her body had not turned cold, reports UK daily Mirror.

Since the woman used to stay on her own, her neighbor arranged for her funeral and even got a coffin so others in the neighbourhood could pay their respects. The woman was transferred to her coffin two days after her neighbor discovered her.

The neighbor did not nail the coffin as he had decided to do it just before the funeral.

He went to check on the coffin two days before the funeral only to get the shock of his life. The dead body had disappeared from the coffin. When the neighbors got together to look for the body, they found the 'dead woman' sitting on a stool in her kitchen and cooking food.

She told her neighbors that she had just woken up from a long sleep and was famished and hence she was cooking some food for herself.

Girl, 18 commits suicide over severe acne issues

BRITAIN: An exceptional student who attended a grammar school in Britain recently committed suicide. The 18-year-old was suffering from depression after developing severe acne on her face and upper body.

The girl started suffering from the problem when she turned 14. She was prescribed medication for her condition but the same pills have been responsible for a number of cases of depression and suicide, reports Daily Mail.

This was not her first attempt at suicide. She had tried ending her life in August 2009 the day before her AS-level results were due.

She was kept under observation by mental health services but she took the drastic step again and this time she succeeded. The court was told that those who were supposed to look after her, let her down.

Her body was found in April 2010, seven months after her last appointment with a psychiatrist. Her sessions were discontinued because the health expert went on leave and no one else was ready to take her case.

The brilliant student could have been saved if she was was given better care, a psychiatrist told the court.

New Study Ties Hair Relaxers To Fibroids And Early Puberty For Young Black Women

A new study in the American Journal of Epidemiology has linked hair relaxers to uterine fibroids, as well as early puberty in young girls.

Scientists followed more than 23,000 pre-menopausal Black American women from 1997 to 2009 and found that the two- to three-times higher rate of fibroids among black women may be linked to chemical exposure through scalp lesions and burns resulting from relaxers.

Women who got their first menstrual period before the age of 10 were also more likely to have uterine fibroids, and early menstruation may result from hair products black girls are using, according to a separate study published in the Annals of Epidemiology last summer.

Three hundred African American, African Caribbean, Hispanic, and White women in New York City were studied. The women’s first menstrual period varied anywhere from age 8 to age 19, but African Americans, who were more likely to use straightening and relaxers hair oils, also reached menarche earlier than other racial/ethnic groups.

While so far, there is only an association rather than a cause and effect relationship between relaxers, fibroid tumors, and puberty, many experts have been quick to point out that the hair care industry isn’t regulated by the FDA, meaning that there’s no definite way to fully know just how harmful standard Black hair care products really are.

“Brown was driving a vehicle with Robyn F. as the front passenger on an unknown street in Los Angeles. Robyn F. picked up Brown’s cellular phone and observed a three-page text message from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.

“A verbal argument ensued and Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown was unable to force Robyn F. out of the vehicle because she was wearing a seat belt. When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against he passenger window of the vehicle, causing an approximate one-inch raised circular contusion.

“Robyn F. turned to face Brown and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand. He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand. The assault caused Robyn F.’s mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle.

“Brown looked at Robyn F. and stated, ‘I’m going to beat the sh– out of you when we get home! You wait and see!’

” The detective said “Robyn F.” then used her cell phone to call her personal assistant Jennifer Rosales, who did not answer.

“Robyn F. pretended to talk to her and stated, ‘I’m on my way home. Make sure the police are there when I get there.’ After Robyn F. faked the call, Brown looked at her and stated, ‘You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I’m really going to kill you!’

“Brown resumed punching Robyn F. and she interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face. She then bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and face near her lap in [an] attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied upon her by Brown.

“Brown continued to punch Robyn F. on her left arm and hand, causing her to suffer a contusion on her left triceps (sic) that was approximately two inches in diameter and numerous contusions on her left hand.

“Robyn F. then attempted to send a text message to her other personal assistant, Melissa Ford. Brown snatched the cellular telephone out of her hand and threw it out of the window onto an unknown street.

“Brown continued driving and Robyn F. observed his cellular telephone sitting in his lap. She picked up the cellular telephone with her left hand and before she could make a call he placed her in a head lock with his right hand and continued to drive the vehicle with his left hand.

“Brown pulled Robyn F. close to him and bit her on her left ear. She was able to feel the vehicle swerving from right to left as Brown sped away. He stopped the vehicle in front of 333 North June Street and Robyn F. turned off the car, removed the key from the ignition and sat on it.

“Brown did not know what she did with the key and began punching her in the face and arms. He then placed her in a head lock positioning the front of her throat between his bicep and forearm. Brown began applying pressure to Robyn F.’s left and right carotid arteries, causing her to be unable to breathe and she began to lose consciousness.

“She reached up with her left hand and began attempting to gouge his eyes in an attempt to free herself. Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her. While Brown continued to punch her, she turned around and placed her back against the passenger door. She brought her knees to her chest, placed her feet against Brown’s body and began pushing him away. Brown continued to punch her on the legs and feet, causing several contusions.

“Robyn F. began screaming for help and Brown exited the vehicle and walked away. A resident in the neighborhood heard Robyn F.’s plea for help and called 911, causing a police response. An investigation was conducted and Robyn F. was issued a Domestic Violence Emergency Protective Order.”

Whitney Houston has passed away at the age of 48

Whitney Houston has passed away at the age of 48.

The singer passed away on Saturday (February 11). She was expected to show up at a studio for a photo shoot in the afternoon and to attend Clive Davis‘ Annual Grammy Party in the evening.

Whitney was the first female artist to ever debut at number one on the Billboard charts and she is considered one of the world’s best-selling female artists with over 200 million albums sold worldwide. After struggling with addiction, Whitney returned to the music scene in 2009 with her album I Look to You.

Later this year, Whitney‘s new film Sparkle will be released into theaters.

Whitney is survived by her daughter Bobbi Kristina, whom she had with ex-husband Bobby Brown.
